GENETIC TESTING
Here at Boca Doodles ALL of our parents have been genetically tested and cleared before allowed to breed. Our main objective is to produce a healthy puppy with a wonderful temperament. There is a lot of science that goes into our breeding program. We use 2 different companies for our testing. Embark and Pawprint Genetics. With gene testing we can be sure we produce a perfectly healthy puppy. We test for over 400 different diseases to be sure all parents are clear of any of them. We can also predict coat types and colors. We will know before breeding if we will have wavy or curly coat types and colors. We test for a shedding gene so we can be sure to produce a non-shedding puppy.
Puppy Genetic Testing
We do sell to breeders on occasion. Most breeders will want a puppy who has been tested so they know how to use that puppy in their breeding program. It takes about 4-6 weeks once a puppy is tested for us to receive our results. This is why we typically wait to do puppy selections until 6-7 weeks of age.
